Bisley village nestled below the towering Church Spire at nearly a 1000ft above sea level

This early spring run is part of the Cotswold Village double along with the  Minchinhampton 10K, run on quiet country lanes in and around the picturesque Cotswold village of Bisley.   This event, is accurately measured and although contains a few short steep hills and a few minor undulations it is still a reasonably quick course.

There is also a 5k run with a 24 minute time restriction entry (if you’re quicker than this, you can’t run it).

includes a great lap of the Cotswold village for all events!

Starting on the High Street in Bisley, all runners will complete a full lap of the village and the 5k & 10k then leave Bisley to head out towards Oakridge.  The 5k turns off shortly after the first small ascent and joins the 10k route at 8km.  The 10k continues onto Oakridge to the primary school before turning left and through the village.  The views across towards Cherington become a distraction just before a short & steep ascent out of Oakridge.

From here it’s onto a loop of Far Oakridge, the halfway point and water station.

Now a gentle incline and a left turn towards Waterlane, which is where after a sharp right at 7.5km the longest hill awaits.  At 8.5km the steepness eases and just before the 9km, the Church Spire comes into view and the finish is just a few hundred metres away.

Finally descending into Bisley turning right onto the High Street and to the finish line.

the 1980s are back, with the reviving of the 10k organised by Bisley local Pete Hendy nearly 30 years ago to raise money to repair the Church roof, is similar to the Minch 10K and is a great autumn run, IMG-BisleyHalfCertificate1986-min “in 1986, there was both a Half Marathon and a 10K. I took part in the half and completed it in 1:51hr, see certificate for evidence ……”, Simon Barnes, Race Director

This run is supporting the local School PTA, Bisley Blue Coats Primary School
