The Sizzler History
The Sizzling 6 was first organised in July 2009 at the Halfway House near Box. The landlord offered all runners a complementary BBQ meal afterwards as reward for tackling the 6k course. Actually the landlord ran it as well. In addition, Cotswold Allrunners, Dinah and Cheryl donated The John Pope Cup in memory of their brother, John Pope, who died in early 2009, a runner himself and regular in the Halfway House. The cup is awarded to the best placed Cotswold Allrunner based on an age weighted formula.
