Back in January 2016, Allister Keating asked if when the day comes, we could organise a run to finish at his favourite spot, Painswick Beacon. Along with Michaela and family we got a run planned from Ebley to Painswick Beacon, following the Cotswold Way, just over 11.5 Miles. This was one of the last big runs Allister ran with both myself and Mark Thomas. As we went along we picked runners up at various pre-arranged points along the way, to eventually all merge at the very top of Painswick Beacon. There were a few words said by Michaela to bid Allister farewell on his final journey. Then in true Allrunners style it’s was off to the pub for hot drinks and buns etc.
Memorial run 1st held – 11th September 2016
In June 2016, he was posthumously awarded the 1st edition of the “Cotswold Allrunners Allrunner” , an award created by Cotswold Allrunners founder and friend of Allister, Simon Barnes
