Starting from Hollow Farm, Elmore, this route takes you inland and away from the Severn river into Hockley Woods and up to Hockley Hill, the highest point of the race at 180ft (55m) at the 1 mile mark.
This is the only hill in the event, apart from a slight, sticky muddy track just past Poolpits Woods (2 miles). After a descent round Monks Hill, the run crosses Longney Road, and heads for the river bank at 3 miles. Now the race really starts as the Bore is already on it’s way and will be chasing you upstream, past Waterend to Hill Farm (4 miles) and to the Shark (5 miles). The Bore will be getting faster as you attempt to go past Elmore Back on your way to the finish at Weir Green.
Once over the finish line, it’s off to Race HQ for Bacon and hot coffee.
If your feet are wet, you’re on the wrong bit
