What is this?
This is a Halloween themed Garden Party aimed at families which also includes the option of a woodland walk around Miserden Park Estate.
It only cost £2.50 to enter the Gardens, but if you wish to come along for the walk, you'll need to pay this in advance
The walk is a bit hilly, goes across fields, along footpaths, crosses one small lane (twice), goes to a lake and finishes in the Miserden Estate garden, which will be lit up for a Halloween event being held there.
Fancy dress encouraged, including adults.
Who’s this for?
This is aimed at families, who want to bring their children along of any age. All children are supervised by parents or guardians at all times.
It isn't pushchair friendly and very young children may find this a bit spooky, however we will be in a big group.
If you don't want to walk, you can still attend the Halloween event at the Gardens for a £2.50 entry fee payable on the day at the entrance.
Who’s is leading the walk
Simon Barnes, who is a qualified Hill & Moorland leader, a member of the British Mountain Leader Association will be leading the group. There will a other volunteers who know the route coming along, too.
What do I need to wear
This is a walk across fields and along footpaths, but a bit muddy in places, so good footwear is essential. As this is a fancy dress event, then some form of Halloween costume can be worn, but not compulsory.
Also, as this is in the dark a Headtorch or other form of mobile light is mandatory.
Other things to consider is the temperature and the possibility of rain.
What do I get for my money?
The Walk Package
You get a free guided walk by our qualified leader around the Miserden Park Estate.
At the end of the walk, you get access to their gardens where there's a Halloween Party, with pumpkin carving, story telling and a small disco tent for anyone with energy left and more ....
You need to pay the £2.50 entrance fee inadvance
The Garden Event
For £2.50 you can come to this event (not the walk) and join in the fun and purchase food & drink separately
NOTE: There is a licensed bar, where alcoholic and other beverages can be purchased separately, too.
I don’t want to do the walk
If you don't want to do the walk, then can you can come along to the Halloween Garden event in the Miserden Estate Garden. You will nee to pay the £2.50 entry price on the day and you can then purchase food and drinks if required.
Is the walk going to be scary?
The walk will be done at sunset, so the 2nd half will be in the dark. There won't be persons dressed up as ghosts jumping out of hedges, but a few nice surprises will be seen.
There's a 600 year old oak tree to see and a Beech Tree that looks a bit spooky in the dark.
But basically this is a Woodland Walk at sunset and we will be in a big group, so it will be less scary to younger children.
At the finish we will be going through a secret entrance to the Miserden Gardens, which will be lit up in Halloween style.
How do I register for the walk?
You will need to complete the online registration form and select how many are going to come along.
You will then be asked to make payment via PayPal (£2.50 per person). Please get in touch for other payment options or if you have experience any difficulties with online registration.
